At the start of the year we asked fans to take part in our short survey that included votes for the best of 2013. Here is the original TEB Awards 2013 article and below are the results.
We always welcome feedback and comments about what we do so that we can continually evolve. Thank you to all of you who took the time to vote and provide us with your comments which are invaluable to us.
Q1. Which of the regular weekly TEB features do you prefer?
The Eagle Speaks is far and away the most popular weekly feature with 40% of the votes. Next most popular with 20% is the Match Preview. Most of the others get similar scores.
Q2. Which is your favourite TEB writer of the year?
This is really close with nothing to choose between most of the writers. Overall, Jay Crame edges it with 17% of the votes with Adam Johnson and Paul Price close behind on 15%. Having said that, most people (58%) like all the writers (option ‘don’t know, they are all great’) showing that we have a good team here at TEB.
Q3. Which TEB interview if your favourite?
The Aki interview stands out as the most popular with 35% of the vote compared with the Mark Bright interview that received 20%. However, 35% also said they liked all of the interviews equally which again suggests that this is a popular feature.
Q4. TEB Is here there and everywhere, but which do you prefer?
Twitter is the dominant channel preferred to by two thirds of people. This shows that our tweets are highly valued. It also suggests that Twitter is perhaps our best route to communicate and promote to fans. The site is preferred by just under a third of voters so it is an important element of what we do. However, it does highlight that it is not worth us spending as much time on the Facebook and Instagram pages at the moment so you may see a drop in updates on these two so that we can focus on other areas.
Q5. Are TEB tweets useful and informative?
Not surprisingly, given the previous results, our tweets are appreciated by over 80% of people as useful and informative. We take this as suggesting we should keep up the good work!
Q6. How do people rate TEB?
We score really well on this ‘overall’ satisfaction measure. It’s seen as very good or brilliant by over 80% of the voters so it’s a big thumbs up!
And as for the favourite Palace moments of 2013 ….
Q. Favourite game of the year
This was only ever going to be a two horse race. In the end, the 2-0 play off victory at the AMEX Stadium won out for TEB readers (52%). The win over Brighton proving to be just a little sweeter that the win at the play off final at Wembley for many. The away win at Villa was the only Premier League game to get any votes.
Q. Palace player of the year
Captain Mile Jedinak was TEB readers’ player of the year with more than double the votes of anyone else (46%), highlighting the pivotal role he played in the road to Wembley last year. In second place was Joel Ward (21%) showing that his defensive (and occasional midfield) efforts are appreciated by TEB readers, if not the England team selectors. Murray and Zaha are close for second and third place with Speroni getting a couple of well deserved votes.
