Sport is corrupt. World Cup style.

Last week I mentioned on twitter that I needed a topic for this next week for my article. Of course what kicked up was the Qatar World Cup bid. It’s like the biggest hot point in the sport, almost like saying you knew that Neymar would be good.

Folks, are we surprised that there was some alleged paying off and corruption with Qatar? No, I’m not surprised if we find something with the Russian bid. Folks, everywhere, where they go right now, there’s some type of strife in the sport.

South Africa had it’s issues, Brazil right now is having it’s issues, we’ll see it in Russia probably. The only solution is to put it in the United Kingdom or North America. While that’s not going to happen, we have to accept the fact that the World Cup for Qatar is going to be a winter tournament which will ruin the sport for some teams for a long time.

And that I’m kind of cool with. I just want this all done with, since it’s tiresome.

Basically, soccer media is searching for words and stories to talk about, because it’s getting tiresome to talk about how Manchester United is bad, or floating another annoying transfer rumor. The latter is another ranty column from me. They need to dissect every angel of something that is out there years from now.

That being said, summers in Qatar are brutally hot, and UEFA can’t figure out what to do. Well, they should have figured that out before they took the kick backs or whatever they did for Qatar. There’s really only two good places to put a summer event south of the equator is either South Africa or in Brazil. Yes it’s still hot there, but there’s at least a good amount of beaches and it’s not a very unsafe environment.

This Qatar bid, and the World Cup being there has shown a horrible light on the sport, and I have a bad feeling that the big wigs don’t really care if they look bad or not, they just want their money. It’s not nowadays about the fans, the experence or the love, it’s about how much the bigger people can make money and themselves better.

That’s a really cynical look at the sport, but what has World Cup, player salaries or the English National team done for the fans lately?

Nothing. And that’s what Qatar is. It’s a proof no matter if it’s right or wrong that the big wigs won’t listen to reason. Because if they had listened to reason, the World Cup would have been in the USA or the United Kingdom and not in some backwater small country with boatloads of money.

Saying right now, you have to move it from Qatar, but it won’t happen folks so we have to put up with more hatred, more stories, and probably a very bad World Cup that year.

That’s sad folks, the World Cup is a very fun thing.
