Last week on Twitter we asked our followers to tweet their thoughts on this question;
If you could sign three #CPFC players from the past that you think would have an effect on the current team, who would they be?
The response was simply fantastic with well over 100 interactions and 66 different players mentioned.
Following the overwhelming response we felt it was right to do some analysis on the players that were voting for and who ultimately made the top three.
But before do, we have to mention some of the players that did not make the final three. In the 66 players that were mentioned there really were some blasts from the past. Players such as Micky Droy, Jerry Murphy and Vince Hilaire while the likes of Padovano, Hedman, Akinbiyi, Suckling and Veart were perhaps mentioned tongue in cheek.
Just missing out on the top three were Wilf Zaha (10), Jim Cannon (8), Nathaniel Clyne (7), Don Rodgers (7), Geoff Thomas (7) and Kenny Sansom (6).
Thank you to those of you that interacted with us on this, it really did capture the imagination.
