Something a bit different for Christmas week.
I have put together what I have called a fiendish almost Google-proof Palace Christmas quiz. Hopefully it will provide a pleasant distraction over the next week. There is no hurry to finish it as we will not publish the answers until next week.
Oh, and there is an ‘Only Connect’ wall especially for Spike ….

Who am I?
Here are brief biographies of five Palace players. Can you name them from the clues?
- I was born in Kent, have played international football but not for England, have spent time on loan in the Championship, but have yet to play for the club in the Premier League.
- I scored from a corner, played in a World Cup, but ended up in prison.
- I was signed from my home town club, was top scorer in my first season, but forced to retire with a knee injury at the age of 27.
- I came to Selhurst with a great reputation from London youth football, had a famous ‘ghost goal’ wrongly disallowed and never actually scored for the club, leaving soon afterwards.
- I was a goalkeeper who played over 250 games for Palace, playing on a promotion winning side and on the losing side in an FA Cup Semi Final after leaving the club.
Only Connect Wall:
If you have watched ‘Only Connect’ on BBC2 you will be familiar with the ‘Connecting Wall’ round. Here is one specific to Palace.
There are sixteen names in the table below, all surnames of players that have played for the club. Arrange them into four groups of four, where the four players in each group have something in common (other than playing for Palace!).
One group of four should be pretty easy if you know your Palace history. Start with that one and take it from there but look out for red herrings – names that could appear in more than one group!
