The Shrews View

In the second round of the Capital One Cup, Palace take on Shrewsbury Town from League One. We had a chat with the team that run the Shrewsbury Away Days Twitter account to find out more.

Q. How have the last five years treated Shrewsbury Town?

Lots of ups and downs, many highs and lows after gaining promotion and suffering relegation, We would not change any of it for the world.

Q. What are your hopes and dreams for this season?

My hopes for this season would be to achieve a comfortable middle table spot. If I was dreaming it would be to scrape a play-off place

Q. How has the summer been for the club and who has been your best signing?

Nine new faces and a huge blow losing our best defender Connor Goldson. Overall I think it has been good. Our best signing in my opinion would be Abu Ogogo who we signed from Dagenham.

Q. Do you think the club will be doing any more business in the transfer window?

I do not think we will be bringing anyone else in but we could still possibly lose Ryan Woods with him being linked to many Championship and Premier League sides.

Q. Are you looking forward to your trip to Selhurst Park?

Extremely looking forward to it. Always liked Palace as a club and think their fans are the best in the country.

Q. There are a lot of older Palace fans, including myself, that remember our form against Shrewsbury is not very good. Do you think that may continue?

We seem to be your bogey team so for our sake I hope it does. We seem to like this cup competition and have had some very good performances so I can see us getting a result.

Q. Which player do you think we should be concerned about from your current line up?

Ryan Woods. Our ginger Pirlo. He runs the show and is extremely calm no matter who he comes up against. Can also pick a pass out extremely well.

Q. It is difficult to say who will be playing for Palace in this game but which player do you think you should be concerned about?

I think if he was to play, Yohan Cabaye is a huge talent and will open us up easily given the chance. If not I would say it would be Bakary Sako or Yannick Bolasie. Both very skillful and quick enough to change games in a instant.

Q. Your prediction?

My prediction is a 2-1 victory for Shrewsbury.

Q. And finally, please share with us anything that you may be working on or that you wish to promote.

I just want to add that I hope the game is exciting for both sets of fans and wish Crystal Palace the best of luck for the rest of there season. Otherwise, if you want to keep up to date with news and views from the Shrews, then give us a follow on Twitter.
