The Eagles Punt – Tips for 26/27 April

Disclaimer: Gambling is for over 18’s (says the 23 year old who has been gambling for about 16-17 years), and only bet money that you can afford to lose.

As always, we start with a look back at last week, the two Palace bets that won covered the outlay, with Palace to win (5/2) as well as Palace to keep a clean sheet (5/2) both coming in thanks to the 1-0 victory.

With Sea Shanty taking victory at Kempton, a profit of +5.5 was gained for yet another profitable week for The Eagles Punt.

The next visitors to Fortress Selhurst are Manchester City. If I had made my following predictions after Fulham had destroyed us back in October, I probably would have been sectioned.

  • Man City to score less than 2 goals (Under 1.5 goals) – 13/8 – MarathonBet – The Palace defence is good, but I can still see Man City scoring at some point, hence avoiding the usual clean sheet bet! Other than Aguero, the other strikers haven’t hit their peak form in recent weeks, which will be a worry for City as Aguero doesn’t look at full fitness yet.
  • Crystal Palace not to lose (CP or Draw – Double Chance) – 21/10 MarathonBet – Man City’s away form has been sketchy throughout the year, Palace have been very good at home, and have made teams suffer at times, being the second best form team in the division, Palace really shouldn’t lose in a game where the pressure is off.
  • Yannick Bolasie to score anytime – 12/1 – 888Sport – High odds for a player that has been getting in the box and closer to the goal with every shot. Although it’s fair to say that Yala can hit the corner flag with some of his shots, his recent efforts have been promising and it’s clear he is desperate to get a goal this season.

Obscure value red and blue tinted bets:

  • Damien Delaney to score anytime – 28/1 – Bet365 – The set pieces have been better and more inventive over the last weeks, it’s also been easy to notice that we have had a lot more. Delaney is due a goal and he deserves one. If he does score at the Holmesdale End, he will either burst into tears, or disappear under a pile of fans.
  • Half Time/Full Time: Draw/Palace – 18/1 Bet365 – A ridiculous price for an occurrence that happened against Chelsea under a month ago. It’s likely that Palace will try and see out the first half with a strong team and then when City attempt to attack more, will counter to better effect than West Brom did on Monday.

(Return of the) Banker treble: Wigan, Wolves and Preston pays 3.44/1 – Ladbrokes

Risky treble: Reading, Brentford and Peterborough pays 8.67/1 – Cora

Palace Horse Double: Leicester 3.05 – Eagle Top, in a win double with Crystal Palace fan-owned Sire De Grugy in the 3.15 at Sandown.

Random Horse Racing Tip for Saturday: Haydock 1.50 – Kyllachy Star
