It is that time again when we look at the club in the news along with any popular trends across social media.
Season Ticket Options Now Available to Select
After plenty of confusion, the options that are available for season ticket holders are now available to select. There is an option that should suit everyone including a refund or a discount on a season ticket for the next campaign. Those that fancy donating can do so to the academy or Palace For Life.
Five Players To Be Released
The retained and released list was publicised this week which confirms five players will be shown the door by the club. Dion-Curtis Henry, Kian Flanagan, Jason Lokilo, Jacob Mensah and Joe Tupper will all be looking for new clubs this summer. We wish them well for the future.
Stewart Interview On Enjoyable Time At Palace
Not many will remember Paul Stewart, a loanee from Liverpool in the 1993-94 season, but the former Spurs striker played a part in Palace’s promotion that season. In an interview on the official club website, Stewart spoke of his enjoyment in his time at the club but also of the disappointment that he was not offered a permanent deal.
“We never even got to discuss it. For him to turn it down on the basis we never even got a discussion in place was disappointing. It was a bit of a kick in the teeth, if I’m honest… I was devastated when it never happened and I think Alan was disappointed that his Chairman would allow the deal to fall through.
Kick Off Moved For Villa Game
The trip to Villa Park on 12 July was scheduled to kick off at 2pm but it has now been put back to 2.15pm, not that it really makes any difference to fans of course.
Palace Chefs Busy As Ever During Lockdown
During what has been a difficult time for most, the kitchens at the club have provided over 10,000 meals for those in need during the pandemic. You can find out more about their great work over on the office club website but huge pat on the back from us to everyone involved. This is one of several initiatives by the club that should make us feel proud that they have done their bit.
Failed January Transfer Looks To Be Revisted This Summer
Young full back Nathan Ferguson almost became a Palace player in January but a failed medical put paid to that. His contract with West Bromwich Albion ends on 30 June and it has been announced that he will be leaving the Hawthorns having not agreed a deal with the club. Roy Hodgson insists that he remains a target but any deal would see the Eagles having to pay compensation to the Baggies.
McArthur Hits 200 Not Out
The win at Bournemouth was the perfect manner in which to celebrate a milstone, and Jimmy Mac did just that with his usual engertic showing in the 2-0 win. The former Wigan midfielder will soon be celebrating six years at the club and has become a fan favourite in that time but remains as grounded as ever. The full interview is over on the official club website.
