It is that time to have a look back at the news stories from the past seven days along with some popular trends featuring the club across social media.
Season Ticket Options Delayed
With match day ticket options already confirmed to fans, this week season ticket holders were expecting to receive an email detailing their options. However, due to a change in ticketing provider, the club were not able to start the process on time. They did go on to confirm that the options available will be similar to those with match day tickets – become an academy founder member, credit for a season ticket next season, donation to Palace For Life, or a pro-rata refund.
Work Begins On Academy Improvements
Bromley Council’s Planning Department have granted planning permission for the Academy redevelopment works, following approval from the Greater London Authority. Chairman Steve Parish revealed in an Instagram story this week that work had begun with a number of images showing the work now in progress along with what it is expected to look like.
Webber Reflects On Impact Of Positive Spell At Glentoran
Youth goalkeeper Ollie Webber spoke highly of his time at Irish club Glentoran in an interview with Belfast Live. The 19-year-old told the media outlet, “Glentoran is a great place to be as a young footballer. McCarthy Revelling In New Lease Of Life With The Eagles
It has been a long road to recovery for James McCarthy after an injury nightmare in his time at Everton. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Irishman spoke of his delight at hearing Roy Hodgson wanted to bring him to South London which has given him a new lease of life – “It has been massive, to be honest. From the moment I heard that he was interested, it was a no-brainer for me. I wanted to go and play again and I felt I would get a look-in here. The gaffer has been great with me, he did not throw me in straight away. He made sure I worked with the boys to get up to speed and then he gave me a chance. It is brilliant to be playing again and I am thankful to him for the faith he has shown in me. Hopefully, I can keep repaying him.”
Transfer Rumours Begin To Ramp Up
With the return of the Premier League, it will not be long before the close season is upon, which may sound crazy considering we have had a lengthy enforced stoppage. That means transfer rumours are around the corner but two caught our eye this week. Palace are alledgedly targetting Queens Park Rangers striker Eberechie Eze and West Ham United youngster Jeremy Ngakia. It is likely to take £20million plus to prize the talented attacker away from Loftus Road while the Hammers face losing highly rated Ngakia on a free.
Palace Back In Action In Behind Closed Doors
The Eagles took part in a friendly matche this week against a London rival ahead of the big kick off. On Saturday, a Christian Benteke goal was not enough to save them from a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United. Earlier in the week there was rumoured to be a friendly against Charlton Athletic but nothing concrete has been reported.
