For those of you that do not know this feature, The Eagles Punt offers a look at the weekend’s betting, with an emphasis on the Palace match. This has proved particularly profitable over the last couple of seasons and long may that continue!
This week, I will start with a reminder of the usual disclaimer:

Rather than looking at every league, I will offer three selections that I think offer the best value from the upcoming football season.
1. Wayne Rooney to be the top Premier League goalscorer. Each Way – 12/1. – This means that Rooney would only have to finish in the first four for you to double your money. Barring injury, Rooney will be playing up front for the majority of the games, and his previous goal-scoring form as the focal point of the attack is up there with the best of them
2. Arsenal to win the Premier League. 4/1 – You can back this each way and profit from them finishing in the top two, however, I think that this may be the year that Arsenal force themselves back to the top of the league after a long time away. Manchester City are in disarray, Manchester United have weaknesses and an adjustment period to overcome, while Liverpool and Tottenham are simply not good enough. That leaves Mourinho’s Chelsea, who are going to rely on an often injured Diego Costa, an ageing defence and basically a one-man attack in Eden Hazard. Arsenal have got a lot of attacking depth and have fixed their fatal flaw by adding Petr Cech. They may lack a genuine top striker, but 4/1 will look excellent value if they find a way to add a top level frontman.
3. Crystal Palace to finish in the top 10. 6/4 – Do not panic! This Palace squad is the strongest in many a year, and are arguably one centre-back away from competing even higher in the table. I think this bet is almost a licence to print money.
Crystal Palace – Season Long Bets
1. Crystal Palace to qualify for Europe. 7/1 – This bet gives you the opportunity for Palace to qualify for Europe in a variety of different ways. Finishing 7th, winning the FA Cup or the League Cup. Hell, it probably counts the Fair Play League as well. If you are dreaming big, then this bet might be one for you.
2. A special bet from Skybet! 2. Crystal Palace to finish top 10, Brighton, Millwall and Charlton to be relegated. 500/1! – Every Palace fans dream. Skybet kindly offered this to TEB through their ‘request-a-bet‘ function. Worth a quid, surely?
