Last season, the popular non-league choice was Sutton United to follow and support. Following that success, the TEB team have decided to select a non-league team for this season.
The idea behind the ‘Grass Roots‘ article stemmed from our promotion to the Premier League. The fact that Palace would not have many Saturday afternoon games, we wanted to lend our support elsewhere and encourage fans to attend non-league games.
Our link up with Sutton United was a successful one. The club offered discounts for season ticket holders attending home games. It was an inspired decision to follow the Skrill Conference South league club as they made the post season play offs, losing out to Dover who ended up achieving promotion to the Conference.
We take this opportunity to thank Sutton United for teaming up with us last season andwish them well for the 2014/15 season.
It is time for us to move on to another non-league side as we head into our second consecutive season in the Premier League season. Nominations for the team that we should follow and feature on the site this season are welcome through Twitter and Facebook. Ideally we would like the official club accounts to contact us so please encourage them to do so.
Several clubs have already been mentioned such as Croydon, Bromley, Whyteleafe and Merstham. Our final decision will be revealed on 5th August so keep the nominations coming.
