Usual Disclaimer: Gambling is for over 18’s (says the 23 year old who has been gambling for about 16-17 years), and only bet money that you can afford to lose.
I hate football tipping when games begin to mean nothing. That describes the success of the last column right there! With the second round now arriving, the cream should begin to rise to the crop and this should improve my tipping skills!
This should begin with the three teams who along with two who shall be mentioned in the next tip, have looked strong in this tournament. France have played very good attacking football and look a strong team, and have Benzema in fine form up front. Lionel Messi has finally produced in Argentina colours, and they have the task of facing a Swiss team who conceded five to the French in their important second group game.
Finally, we have Germany who bar a minor blip against a physically strong Ghana team, have looked their usual efficient selves and Thomas Muller is scoring for fun right now alongside the dynamic Mario Gotze.

Colombia look too strong for the Suarez-less Uruguayans, and James Rodriguez has been one of the players of the World Cup so far. With Uruguay concentrating on trying to overturn the suspension of Hannibal Lecter, the Colombians should get themselves through to face another opponent from South America.
Netherlands face a Mexico side who have looked good at times, but arguments could be made they were lucky to get through thanks to decisions in various games going their way.
Belgium came through with nine points from what looked a poor group. Three poor performances from the team and they did not look too great despite picking up a 100% record. Hopefully they can turn it on again.

Neymar looks to have most of Brazil on his shoulders, and if they are going to get anywhere, he is going to have to keep on scoring, and against a Chile defence that is mainly made up of midfielders and wingers, he will get chances to score. Benzema has been in fine form throughout and was denied a sensational hat-trick against the Swiss by the referee. Both players are a real threat for the golden boot and will be looking to add to their tallies.

With the Patriotic Punt being over and done with (and never spoken of again… until 2016), I add a new bet that has been titled the GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!! bet in tribute to the South American commentators who like to celebrate a goal until the game has been restarted!
Brazil vs Chile is a recipe for goals, both teams are not the greatest defensively but create so much going forward that it seems certain there will be goals in this one.
Costa Rica vs Greece does not bode well for the casual football supporter! Greece have scored two goals in the tournament so far, and even in qualifying, they scored as many as European “powerhouse” Moldova. But they do have a decent defensive set-up. Costa Rica are a well organised team who came out their group as winners despite being throwaway outsiders prior to the tournament. They should continue their World Cup here, but I don’t expect to see many goals.
Belgium have conceded few goals in this tournament and have kept it tight whilst securing the tag of ‘Least Impressive Team’ to get nine points in the World Cup ever. The USA are no mugs, but they may struggle against a well-drilled, talented Belgium side with a very strong back five.
GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!! Bet!: Brazil vs Chile – Over 2.5 goals, Costa Rica vs Greece – Under 2.5 goals and Belgium vs USA – Under 2.5 goals. Pays 3.31/1 with Ladbrokes
