The Eagles Punt – Tips for 11/05

Disclaimer: Gambling is for over 18’s (says the 23 year old who has been gambling for about 16-17 years), and only bet money that you can afford to lose.

As always, we start with a look back at last week, with another profit made on the Palace games, this time thanks to the excellent late comeback.

The Crystal Palace not to lose (CP or Draw – Double Chance) 9/4 bet came in thanks to the late comeback and thanks to Dwight Gayle’s late double, Palace to score over 1.5 goals came through at a ridiculously good value 4/1 against what is a very average, yet very expensive defence, and as stated last week, Palace caused a lot of trouble on the counter attack.

We end the season away to relegated Fulham. In a game where the fans are going to enjoy it as much as anyone, the team is chasing a sixth win in their final eight games of the season.

If anyone had told me that Palace would get nineteen points from their final twenty four while I was sat head on the table on the train after Newcastle, I would have snapped their hand off while phoning the local asylum.

Fulham have nothing but pride to play for, but look a tired team. They have ended games poorly over the last few weeks and their capitulation that doomed them to relegation last week shows quite how important the fitness levels have been at Palace this season, as in most games, we have become dominant in the last twenty minutes.

  • Crystal Palace to score Over 1.5 goals – 13/10 Coral – I think the players are enjoying themselves and a team that enjoys themselves play better football and get forward more. Not to mention the fact that it seems likely that Gayle will play some part in this game and when he has played (senior or U21), he has always had a chance on goal and I would back him to put a chance away.
  • Crystal Palace to win – 9/5 – MarathonBet – High odds for a team who is bang in form against a team that is relegated and is likely not looking forward to a summer under Felix Magath.
  • Yannick Bolasie to score anytime – 15/2 – 888sport – He has to score. He just has to!

Obscure value red and blue tinted bets;

  • Crystal Palace to win both halves – 10/1 – Coral – Overconfidence is not something that normally appears in this column, but the team should be firing from the start. It’s a game that means nothing for either team, but Pulis will want to keep the points flowing.
  • Scott Dann to score anytime – 14/1 – William Hill – I say it every week, but our corners and free kicks have been good, with infrequent success from them. We are due a goal from one of them and Dann is a quality header of the ball.
