The Eagles Punt – Tips for Wednesday 16th April

Disclaimer – Gambling is for over 18’s (says the 23 year old who has been gambling for about 16-17 years), and only bet money that you can afford to lose.

With two winners from the football bets garnering a £1.30 profit if £1 was placed on each selection, it’s another profitable week, especially with the Palace horse tip coming in as well.

Palace again kept a clean sheet and sealed a victory in the second half with a goal from Jason Puncheon that brought in the two winning bets. Jason Puncheon to score anytime at 4/1 was a bargain that will again be exploited this week! Palace to win while keeping a clean sheet paid 23/10 which was much better odds than the low odds offered for a simple Palace clean sheet.

The Everton game (bonus midweek special from The Eagles Punt!) is the hardest game I have predicted so far. As positive and happy as Selhurst is right now, Everton are flying and have won their last seven games. This will be a tough game and the Everton team have talent across the board. A strong defence as well as a big, battling midfield and in loanee Lukaku they have a striker better than all of Chelsea’s current options.

Here are my selections;

  • Everton to win 2-1 – 9/1 betvictor – My random correct score of 2-1 is that I think Everton could be too strong in the 2nd half, and the teams that Palace have struggled against this season are teams that pass the ball around and play nice football (Liverpool, Southampton etc). I think Palace will keep it tight and will likely score, but this is in my opinion the hardest game left this season.
  • HT/FT: Draw/Everton – 17/5 – Same again, Palace to stay tight and then the quality depth of the squad that Everton have to shine through in the second half.
  • Palace to keep a clean sheet in the first half – 27/20 Ladbrokes – As above, I can see Palace keeping it tight enough to see it through a nervous first 45 minutes for Everton

Obscure value bets;

  • Puncheon to score anytime – 6/1 Bet365 – Talented goal scorer who has a real eye for goal and his consistency is improving as the season is continuing.
  • Puncheon to score but Everton to win – 14/1 Betway – A combination of all the bets so far. I would love to say Palace will win, but at home Everton are more than good enough to take victory despite the recent Palace form. I don’t think it’ll be easy for them though.
