Our last update on Bromley was at the beginning of April as the Ravens embarked on the final four games of their Vanarama National League season.
The day after our last Grass Roots article, the club announced former Gillingham midfielder Neil Smith as their new manager who signed a two year deal. Smith was in temporary charge following the sacking of former boss Mark Goldberg at the beginning of February.
It was a disappointing end to the season with only one point from the final four league games. A fairly even goalless draw away at relegated Altrincham was followed up with a 2-0 home defeat to Torquay United who managed to avoid relegation. A fiftieth minute red card for Ali Fuseini put paid to any hope of a fight back after the visitors took an early lead and sealed all three points late on.
The penultimate game of the season saw Bromley take a trip to ninth placed Gateshead but found themselves two goals down inside the opening twenty-five minutes of the game. Substitute Adam Coombes pulled one back early into the second half but the hosts scored a third with fifteen minutes left to play.
Ending the season with a home game is always a good one for the fans as Aldershot were the visitors to Hayes Lane. Once again, the Ravens were a goal down early on but Fuseini scored just after the quarter of an hour to level the scores. However, midway through the second half Sean Francis put the ball into the back of his own net before the Shots added a third with fifteen minutes remaining to put the result beyond doubt.
Bromley finished a respectable fourteenth in debut season at this level after reaching sixty points from forty-two games, just one point behind Woking and Lincoln City and four points ahead of Aldershot. They finished twelve points above the relegation zone and twenty points behind the play off places. Top goal-scorer was Emmanuel with twenty goals.

At the end of season awards night, Jack Holland received the Supporters Player of the Year while Joe Anderson took home the Committee Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year.
Pre-season matches have already been lined up against Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic and Millwall which you can find out more about on the official club website.
The Ravens are the third non-league team to be the focus of our Grass Roots feature since we started it after following the fortunes of Sutton United and Croydon. We thank Matt Hall and all at Bromley for their interaction and help with the articles throughout the season as well as providing Palace season ticket holders discounted entry. We wish them the best of luck for the future but our link up will continue through the Palace Ladies who continue to play their home games at Hayes Lane.
This is not the end though as we will continue to follow all the sides that have been included in this feature to date but right now we welcome nominations for our non-league team to support next season.
Please leave your suggestion either below this article or contact us by email or get in touch with us on any of our social media accounts. We will have a Twitter vote during the summer once we have narrowed down the nominations.
