Palace On The Brink Of Breaking The Magic Forty Point Barrier

A fourth win a row for Roy Hodgson’s men would see the club pass what is a popular target for a number of Premier League clubs, but it will be a difficult task down on the South Coast as Bournemouth are fighting for their lives.

ONE TO WATCH

PHILIP BILLING

Former clubs – Jerne IF, Esbjerg, Huddersfield Town

The Danish youth international was born in Copenhagen in 1996 and made his professional debut for Huddersfield in 2014. He moved to the UK in 2013 from Danish club Esbjerg and went on to make almost 100 appearances for the Yorkshire club. The Cherries spent £15million to secure his services back in July 2019 and has been in good form so far this season.

KEY CLASH

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE v NATHAN AKE

With the Belgian striker playing a pivotol role in recent weeks by dropping back and becoming a supply line, that will prove a challenge to the in form Bournemouth centre back. By bringing other players into the game high up the pitch, Benteke’s contribution has been key which is something Ake will be very aware of.

PRE-GAME STATS

  • Top passers – Luka Milivojevic (1132), James McArthur (1063)
  • Palace have kept a clean sheet in each of their last 3 Premier League matches
  • Top scorers – Jordan Ayew (8), Callum Wilson (8)
  • Palace have won their last 3 Premier League matches
  • Top assists – Ryan Fraser (4), James McArthur (3), Wilfried Zaha (3)
  • Top tackles – James McArthur (68), Philip Billing (65)

PREDICTION

This could go one of two ways – the shackles could be off and a more relaxed Eagles side may well be free to play their natural game. Alternatively, the long season to date could play its part and a more relaxed Palace side may let the hosts in who will be desparate for the points. We are tipping the former and for the Eagles to heap more misery on the side from the South Coast.

Final score: 1-2
