Jeffrey Schlupp Joins The Eagles

The first signing of the January transfer window sees Sam Allardyce add Ghanaian international Jeffrey Schlupp to the Palace squad from Leicester City.

Joining for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be in the region of £12million pounds, the quick and versatile Hamburg born player has signed a four and a half year deal at Selhurst Park.

Schlupp began his career as a striker at Leicester in 2005, working his way through the youth system until making his first team debut in 2010, going on to make 122 appearances and scoring 10 goals. He had a loan spell at Brentford in 2011 where he scored 6 goals in 9 appearances where he gained a Football League Trophy runners up medal.

International football came calling in 2011 when he was called up by Ghana, making his debut against Gabon. To date he has 13 caps and has scored 1 goal.

In his time at Leicester, the 24 year old was academy player of the year in 2010/11, twice named young player of the year (2014/15 and 2015/16). He was also players player of the year in 2014/15.

The left back who can also play on the left wing will wear squad number 31.

We wish Jeffrey luck in his career at Palace and we look forward to him appearing in the red and blue.
